Even without a camera mounted, my Slypod Pro seems to struggle to support its own weight vertically. Sometimes it stops mid-extension and will not go higher. Sometimes it won't extend at all when in the standing position.
I've updated the firmware. And I've tried calibrating. But even the calibration does not always move the device from its closed position.
Is there anything more I can do, or is it a dud?

I'm afraid the only think you can do is to never buy again any Gudsen products. I was looking forward to buying a Slylop Pro for myself, but after seeing how they treat their customers, no thank you. I'm sure that in the future some other better company will produce something similar.
