Even without a camera mounted, my Slypod Pro seems to struggle to support its own weight vertically. Sometimes it stops mid-extension and will not go higher. Sometimes it won't extend at all when in the standing position.
I've updated the firmware. And I've tried calibrating. But even the calibration does not always move the device from its closed position.

Is there anything more I can do, or is it a dud?
